Special Activities
From September 2010, a new flexible 15 timetable will be in place (for more details please follow this link:
sessions).
Gardening, computing, music and other activities will be incorporated into the normal sessions where possible.
Currently, the special activities offered are as below:
Musical Wednesday
The Wednesday afternoon open session is our music afternoon. Activities are influenced by music. As part of the session the children might play with different musical instruments, learn new songs or sing old favourites.
Our Friday morning open session takes on a different format from the other main sessions. The children are split into 2 groups. One group attends “Outdoor Friday” where they go on an outdoor visit to the primary school wildlife area and enjoy activities based in a natural environment, particularly looking at the changing seasons. The second group stays at pre-school and takes part in a cooking or gardening activity. They may make jam tarts or cupcakes or plant sunflowers or tomatoes. Either way the children love these activities and come away with a great sense of achievement at the end of the session.
