Forest School

As part of the Rising 5's sessions the children will have an opportunity to visit the Forest School. It is part of an Oxfordshire County Council initiative to increase the amount of time children spend learning in the outdoors.

Forest School is a fenced area in a woodland setting where children are able to learn in an outdoor classroom. The normal Foundation Curriculum is followed, but in an exciting outdoor setting. The children travel by minibus and the Preschool provide waterproofs. There is a qualified Forest School teacher and a high child to adult ratio. It is hoped that all children will attend weekly or fortnightly throughout the year. We require children to attend at least one other Pre-school session in addition to Forest School.
