Staff

Jenny Jones is a Pre-school assistant who has been at Pre-school since 1991, when she completed the Pre-school Playgroup Association Foundation course (and has done many more since then). Jenny works 3 days at Pre-school – Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. She has a keen interest in children’s creative and physical development. Jenny has lived in Goring since 1980 with her 2 sons, now young men, who both attended our Pre-school. Her hobbies are gardening and reading.

Helen Townsend has recently joined the staff team as a Pre-school Assistant working on Monday and Wednesday mornings. She started her working life in Sales and General Management, but since taking a career break to concentrate on her family, her interest in education, child development and welfare has blossomed . She thoroughly enjoys working with the children and rediscovering the world through their eyes. She is married with a daughter aged 12 and has lived in the area for 18 years. Hobbies include being outdoors and walking her dog, reading and attempting to keep fit !

Lisa Hewlett is a Special Needs Assistant at Goring Pre-school and works Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings. She is a qualified Nursery Nurse (N.N.E.B.) and has lived in Goring since 1994. She has 2 boys at Goring Primary School. Lisa loves art and craft work, and enjoys using her creative skills in all aspects of childcare.

Kate Cheng is responsible for the Forest School Project, which currently runs on Tuesdays, Thursday afternoons and Friday morning. She has a degree in environmental Science, is a qualified primary school teacher and has a forest school leadership qualification. She began working at Pre-school in Sept 2006. Kate moved to the village in 2000 and has two children both at Goring Primary School. She enjoys walking, the outdoors and tennis.

All staff are qualified to act as Supervisor and are First Aid trained. Training is continuous and ongoing.
